BULLYING AT SCHOOL - Niki Ardiyanti (1888203070 )



Abstract
This paper aims to provide a brief description of the research conducted by Niki Ardiyanti with the title ”BULLYING AT SCHOOL”. Using descriptive qualitative analysis of this paper tries to understand what the understanding and explanation of bullying at school is from my own point of view.
Descriptive analysis is research that only describes the state of the data as it is through parameters such as mean, median, mode, frequency distribution and other statistical measures. Descriptive methods can be interpreted as problem solving procedures investigated by the situation of the subject or object in the form of people , institutions, communities and others which at present are based on facts that appear or are. In descriptive statistics, what needs to be presented is:
1.     Measures of central tendency
2.     Measures of spread
The discussion about the title of this paper is to increase our knowledge together with the dangers of the effects of bullying in school. And the reason why someone is bullying with others. From this paper we both know the results of the research of a child who is always bullied at school.

Introduction
My writing this time discusses the meaning, causes and consequences of bullying in school. Bullying is the use of force or coercion to abuse or intimidate another child. This behavior can be a habit and involves an imbalance of social or physical power. This can include verbal abuse or threats, physical violence or coercion and can be directed repeatedly to certain victims, perhaps on the basis of race, religion or ability. Actually bullying does not only cover physical violence, such as hitting, grabbing, slapping, blaming, etc., but can also take the form of verbal violence, such as cursing, mocking, gossiping, ostracizing, and discriminating. Based on a survey of bullying treatments, the majority of victims reported that they received psychological (underrated) abuse. Bullying is the use of power or power to hurt someone or a group of people, a threatening, oppressive behavior, and makes other people's feelings uncomfortable. This action is carried out within a period of once, many times, often or even as a habit. That means, actually bullying is an act of violence that is not only limited to occurring among students at school, anyone and anywhere can experience this action.
Bullying as an action that disturbs others, can be physical, or emotional. Bullying is often seen as coercive behavior or an attempt to hurt physically or psychologically towards someone or group that is more "weak" by someone or a group of people who claim to be "stronger".
This act of coercion or harm occurs within a group, for example a student group at school. It may be the form of hitting, pushing, mocking, threatening, humiliating money, harassing, slandering, and so on. Now, bullying can not only be done face to face, but can be through social media that contains messages that offend others.


What is Bullying?

Bullying is the act of intimidating and forcing a weaker individual or group to do something they do not want, with the intention of endangering physical, mental or emotional abuse and assault. Parents are often unaware, their children are victims of bullying at school.

The most common form of bullying / bullying in schools is verbal abuse, which can come in the form of ridicule, teasing or teasing in the mention of names. If not noticed, this form of abuse can increase to physical terror such as kicking, thrashing and even rape.

Why Do Children Do Bullying?

Usually the offender starts bullying in school at a young age, by terrorizing boys and girls emotionally or psychological intimidation. Children interfere for various reasons. Usually because they seek attention from peers and their parents, or also because they feel important and feel in control. Many schools of bullying are also driven by imitating adult actions or television programs.

Effects of Bullying on Schools

Oppression has a long-term effect on the victim and the oppressor himself. For victims, the treatment deprived them of their confidence. For bullying, the effect is to become a habit and pleasure to improve their ego.

Fear and emotional trauma suffered by the victim can trigger a tendency to drop out of school. Some children who are used to bullying at school can eventually become cruel adults or criminals.

How to protect your child from bullying?

1.     Looking for school assistance
2.     Talk to bullying actors
3.     Empower your child
4.     Talk about your own experience
5.      Form of friendship outside of school.
6.     Continue to pay attention and monitor the condition of your child and the bully.
